What is a Subwoofer?

Subwoofer Produces low Frequencies

A Subwoofer is a type of speaker that produces low frequencies at high volumes. People mostly use subwoofers in houses for home theater systems like in 5.1 surround sound systems and the it would also be used in cars, those are the most popular ways of where subs are used .

A subwoofer can be made of plastic and sometimes a sort of hardened paper .The skeleton of the sub would be made of metal and then there is the magnet and the coils what produces the power of the speaker.

The coils are like a electric magnet that when power is transmitted on the coils the coils act like a opposite magnetic pole of the magnet and that is how the coil then pushes away from the magnet .You also get dual coil subs and are also bit more expensive.Stick around and i will explain how that works.

Single coils tend to blow more easily ,dual coil usually have more power due to the fact that it has double coil and therefor have more wattage to work with.A subwoofer is more for people who love bass.I bought a 7000w sub the other day and just loving the sound so far.

Rel Subwoofer

Rel Subwoofer

rel subwoofer is like any other subwoofer but is of quite good quality and the rel subwoofer is not for cars if you guys thought of that it is more for you home audio like for a home theater surround sound systems the rel subwoofers have their own built in amplifier like any other home theater subwoofer

You can use the sub in the car but for that you would need a inverter for the power source (lol) who would actually put a house rel subwoofer in a car i would just because if you have the extra stuff laying around that is never used so it would save you some money ,instead of also buying an amplifier and a subwoofer for the car but any way thats what i would do if i had the money for a rel subwoofer

The sub is obviously constructed of wood and the box fine tuned for a specific frequency so that you could really feel that bass instead of hearing you have to agree feeling the bass is much more enjoyable than hearing it i mean you can go to a certain level of hearing but if you feel the bass it so more realistic.

The rel subwoofer is also for very heavy duty so that means that it can take quite a punch and the duration of playing at loud levels for long period of times can almost be endless.

Can a Subwoofer break windows?

Can a Subwoofer break windows?

Can a Subwoofer break windows?

Can a Subwoofer break windows?

Can a subwoofer break windows , good question ,if you were to crack or break a window with a subwoofer that would be one power full subwoofer wouldn’t it, well making the windows fall out a car could be easy if you dont have special type of fittings and windows .A powerfull sound system could cause a lot of damage ,the most of the damage would be due to low frequency . Low frequency is very powerfull if played at high volumes ,

if you would be in a car with very low frequency without the proper gear you could do damage to yourself ,thats the reality of the story so be carefull. So what do YOU think can a subwoofer break windows.

A really high wattage subwoofer and amp could loosen a car window if all doors are closed  and no pressure is escaping.Cars now have higher quality windows than before and thus would be more difficult to break. But if you are to use a sound system with at least 20 12inch subs and plain general windows now that would make your windows fall out if…and if all subs were to be focused on one point(if possible) of the window ,generally subs or may i say bass are to wide spread, i mean all over the place to create a crack in a window. When we talk about high frequency it would be an easier task to crack a window, every object has a frequency and if we were to find that objects resonance frequency we could break or crack the object , but with bass its a bit more difficult because of it working with slow moving frequencies
This is actually something to discuss so i would like to hear you thoughts on this topic.

The Subwoofer How Low can it Really Go?

The subwoofer is a great finding atleast thats what i think, it is one of the most popular speaker , the most used and talked about in the sound world ,i still remember my first subwoofer i got i was so excited, if i remember clearly it was a diamond subwoofer 12 inch that was way back when i was about 14 and i had a home made amplifier that i made myself with some other diagram i got online ,im 27 at the moment and still liking subwoofers a lot,

well lets get back to the point how low can a sub really go? well i have tested a sub with a track i made with some other sound editor cant remember the name right now, but i slowed down the time of the track to under ten hz it was a track i took out of a bass mechanics cd ,while some subwoofers can handle that low frequency others may burn there coil .

I should actually make a video of a subwoofer gong that low to show you guys or maybe you can have a search on youtube, but anyway you would not get any bass from that low frequency only air blowing in and out of the port of the subwoofer box .So by making a subwoofer go that low is more for the fun , looks really freaky when its that low of a frequency. So  subwoofers can go lower than 10 hz as long as its not very loud and very long other wise it will get damaged  for sure!
